Probate Court Order for Immigrant Juvenile

Attorney Mooradian's client, a young man from South America, recently received a Judgment of Dependence and Special Findings of Fact and Rulings of Law from the Probate and Family Court.

The Child reports that he cannot safely return to his country of origin because of abandonment and neglect by his parents. Indeed, he experienced serious domestic violence and extreme poverty growing up in a rural area with minimal resources.  The client fled to the United States and has reunified with a family member who is able to provide adequate care and social support.

Accordingly, a Probate and Family Court Judge made special findings of fact and rulings of law that it is not in the child's best interests to return to his country of origin, but rather is in his best interests to remain in the United States in the care and custody of his family member.
