Attorney Mooradian's client, a woman from Korea, arrived in the United States after successfully obtaining a marriage based visa. Attorney Mooradian was contacted by the client's husband. The parties had begun the paperwork on their own, but had hit a roadblock when the consulate failed to process their file.
Attorney Mooradian was able to take over the case to negotiate with the consulate. He also transferred the case to a different consulate because the client was in the process of moving from the country of her employment back to her country of nationality.
Upon arrival in the United States, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) also raised a question regarding the expiration date of the visa. The expiration of the visa was in fact caused by the delay at the consulate. Attorney Mooradian contacted CBP, explained the circumstances, and was able to coordinate an inspection at the Boston Logan Airport. Now, the client is living happily in the United States and will be able to apply for permanent residence on the basis of her marriage.
