Green Card for Survivor of Domestic Violence

Attorney Mooradian represented a client, as well as his two siblings, to receive immigration benefits based upon a U Visa. A U Visa is deisgned to assist immigrants, even if undocumented, in order to receive immigration status in return for cooperation in the prosecution of crimes against them.

In this case, the client was a young man from Guatemala. He, his brothers, and their mother had endured a lifetime of trauma due to severe domestic violence and tragic circumstances in their country of origin. While the client was a good student and worked hard here in the United States, the family dealt with many challenges in gathering sufficient evidence to adjust their status to that of permanent resident. Through close monitoring of the case, frequent follow-up with the clients and outside stakeholders, and perseverance, the green card was ultimately granted.
