Adjustment of Status, Family Based

Attorney Mooradian's client, a young person from the Dominican Republic, recently received her green card based on a marital petition.  The client, who had overstayed her visa, was concerned that she might need a waiver or to return to her country of origin to obtain permanent resident status.  In fact, since she is married to a U.S. Citizen, Attorney Mooradian advised that she go forward with a one-step adjustment of status before USCIS. In this case, the bona fide nature of the marriage was clear. However, questions arose about the financial sponsorship of the beneficiary.  Mooradian assisted the clients in bolstering the financial support aspect of the matter. After a brief interview, and in consideration of the extensive supporting documents, the case was approved at the time of the interview.
