Adjustment of Status, Married Couple

Mooradian obtained adjustment of status to permanent residence for a couple from Central Massachusetts last week.  The couple had met during their college years, and the visa for the beneficiary had lapsed.

Due to the ongoing changes in the financial support requirements for family-based immigration, the couple had become frustrated by the process and needed assistance.  Attorney Mooradian was able to navigate the I-864 and 944 requirements, especially where a joint sponsor was needed.

In addition, a couple of derogatory factors had come up during the preparation of the case, including unauthorized employment and a civil judgment against the beneficiary.  Mooradian was able to work with outside stakeholders to eliminate the civil judgment, and he was also able to properly and accurately present the unauthorized work, emphasizing to the officer that there should be no immigration consequences for that violation. The client will enjoy the benefits of permanent residence in the United States.
