One-step Adjustment of Status approved

Mooradian's client, a woman from Brazil married to a U.S. Citizen, recently received her lawful permanent resident status based upon an approved I-130 marital petition.  The clients, who came to Mooradian after being referred by a previous client, wondered how to approach the fact that the petitioner was no longer working.  Through the assistance of a joint financial sponsor, the clients were able to proceed with the adjustment of status process.

Mooradian submitted substantial evidence of the relationship; from there, he was able to provide supporting financial documents as well as demonstrate the beneficiary's admissibility despite unauthorized employment and overstaying a visa. Despite these derogatory factors, USCIS readily approved the permanent resident status as a one-step adjustment of status.
